EYES

The important part of our body is eyes. Eyes are organs that detect light, and send signals along the optic nerve to the visual and other areas of the brain. The eyes make us to see the beauty of the nature. Every day, our eyes give us messages that help us understand the world. Although the eyes are small compared with most of the body's other organs, their structure is incredibly complex. The eyes have to be given special care so we don’t face any defects in our eyes through out our life time. The eyes work together to perceive depth, enabling us to judge distance and the size of objects to help us move around them. Our eyes work together, and also work with the brain, muscles, and nerves to produce complicated visual images and messages.
Trachoma is a very serious form of eye disease. If the eyelids of a patient who has this disease are pulled down to show their inner surfaces, it will be seen that the lids are covered with numerous little granules (lumps). The specific treatment for this is one of the tetracyclines by mouth. If a doctor is available he should be consulted. However, in any severe infection of the eye these drugs may be safely used even if you have no doctor to advise you.
